The Art Exhibition - by Isabella Afonso

Just before 6pm on the 12th of May there was a buzz in the air of excited parents and students ready to bid for their artworks. Before it had all started some of the parents had already taken their bid on their child's/children's' artworks. As the time went by the hall seemed to become filled by more and more people . There were two interactive artworks one of which was sand laid on the floor for anyone to write with, the other was a glass box made by one of the college students.

At around 7pm a sudden smashing sound came from somewhere in the hall! To all of our surprise it was the college student, who had made the glass box, smashing it for a demonstration. Everyone in the school created an artwork, if not two and even some of the teachers got involved in showcasing their talents. Overall it was a night full of creativity, enthusiasm and celebration!

PCS Junior Preparatory Soccer - by Jordanne McDonald

The 2nd of April was a lovely day at South Downs Collage. At the beginning of the day some people were a bit late for the soccer match. Nobody seemed to care about who was late and who wasn’t. All of the coaches tried to get all of the children to line up in their grades. After a while they got the children together when everybody was there. The matches got under way and the people were very excited and they all supported their teams well.

At the end of the day everyone enjoyed themselves. The kids got icies for all of their hard work. Everyone went home after this exciting day of playing soccer.

Happy Mother’s Day - By Moira Dahlan

Oh my dear mom
How I love you so l
From how you care
To your beautiful hair
Nothing compares
For without you
I wouldn’t breathe air
Sure we fight a lot
But in the end
We sit and stare
Then hug it all out
You are my mother
But it feels like
You’re my best friend
I’ll tell you anything
(Even the time I wet the bed)
You’ve done an amazing job
At being my mom
So today I’ll pay you back
With some coupons
Inside my bag
For washing the dishes
And rubbing your feet
It’s not a lot but it’s something sweet
To say here’s a treat
For the best mom on the street
