Lakiesha came first place in both the impromptu and prepared speech categories at the Toastmasters Gala evening this year.
Q1: Did u expect to place in one of the categories?
A: No, not at all. I had actually already determined who I thought would win beforehand.

Q2: What made u think of your prepared speech topic ? (Mythical Court)
A: My brother had been preparing for Easter and I started thinking about how much I hate mythical tales told to other people.

Q3: When u first heard your impromptu topic what first came to mind ?
A: I thought about using Martin as "the ghost" but assumed someone had already used it.
Q4: Were you invited to the Centurion Toastmasters Club and if so when will you present your speech to them ?
A: Yes, I have been invited in June.
Q5: Do you think you'll carry on with public speaking this year ?
A: Yes but only in the third term because I would like to do netball.
Q6: Do you think that you benefited from the toastmasters course?
A: Yes because it has taught me many things about speaking that I hadn't thought of.
Q7: Have you done any form of public speaking before the course?
A: Yes, I attended public speaking club.
Q8: What tips would you give someone who isn't great at presenting speeches?
A: Practice, practice and when you finish practicing... practice more.
Q9: Which do you prefer impromptu or prepared speeches ?
A: Impromptu because it gives me a chance to speak about a topic that I have never thought of before.
