Tiyana’s Diary... Quirks

Dear Diary

My family and I have different quirks. My mom loves to shop for shoes and bags. She also likes to talk work stories I don’t understand. She also wears a doek on her head every evening. Instead of buying me toys she buys me clothes. But she is the best mom I could ask for!

Anyway, enough about my mom, lets talk about my dad. My dad has the best quirks, he does cross puzzles, works, buys me toys and plays games on his phone.

My nanny Malisa, she watches Indian shows. “If you don’t do what I say I will kick you out my house” ...that’s what they would say. In the Indian shows they like knocking people with their cars and kidnapping each other.

My dog Simon just chases his tail.

Let’s talk about me. I like to sing, dance, act, draw manga, play outside and make movies. This is my family quirks.

How Aliens took over! By Palesa Kgengwenyane and Ayola Dubese Gr4

We were at school, in Art and the whole school heard a bang on the basketball court....Everybody ran out to check on it and we saw a strange round object. Mr Gelling, our Principal, went closer to investigate, when the weird creatures jumped out. They were flying out and looked around, then they started chasing us! The fire alarms went off, but people would not go back to their classes. Everyone just started running away! My friends and I decided to go to Ayola's house, hoping she had a basement where we could hide, and she did. We all hid there, but before we went, we got a lot of snacks, food, pillows and blankets. It was a good thing that we all brought our phones, so that we could call our parents to tell them what has just happened. All of our parents said it is ok, since my baby brother's school next to Ayola's house. I went to fetch him and i ran straight back with him. We heard footsteps coming from the front door... Luckily Ayola's basement had another door, through which we snuck out... and then we saw them! We thought it was the aliens!! The leader had a red cape and was grey in colour. The rest were looking green... I rushed back catch up with the rest. We snuck out of the house without getting caught. We went to KG's house instead, cause she also had a basement where we hid. Everything outside was destroyed. It really looked like aliens took over! So we made a plan on how to defend ourselves form the alien invasion. Our plan was to work together until everyone was safe. It was all ok in the end! The President even awarded us with R1 million each! After that we all went to bed... and then woke up, and we realised that we all had the same weird dream about the aliens...!
