"The Guardians" Chapter 5, by Nina Olivier, Gemma Penning, Andrea White

“What!?” I asked, getting more confused by the second.
“Your mother, Mariana Flare, was the previous Guardian of Fire. But since her untimely passing, along with all the other Guardians,” Chryselium stopped for a second, and then continued, “A new generation of Guardians was made. All of the Guardians chose their heir. Your Mother chose you, Alex Flare, to protect Orion using the power of the Flame.” The Silverwings stopped flying, and landed.
“Thank you, you two,” She said, and passed them meat, me wondering where on Earth did she get it. They then flew away, leaving Chryselium and I in a city with white and blue buildings, with rivers leading along everywhere. It was watched over by one huge castle, with guards guarding every entrance.
“Where are we?” I asked
“River City, biggest city in Orion” She walked up to and entrance, and looked back at me, “Well, aren’t you going to come?” I walked to her, but the two guards blocked away.
“No trespassing allowed,” the one said to us. Chryselium sighed and showed them her left wrist, revealing a birthmark that looked like a leaf. The two guards let her through, but not me.
“Show them your wrist, the left one,” she said. I did as I was told though mightily confused. I did have a birthmark, one shaped like a flame, but I didn’t think it that big of a deal. The guards let me through, and guided us to an empty ballroom, with a throne watching over it. Inside of the throne was a girl my age, wearing a fancy dress and even fancier crown.
“Hello, pleased to meet you,” she said “I am Elanour River, Queen of River City, and Guardian of Water,”

Family! by Lwethu Phalatse

Family is the best thing that god has gave me. In my family I have 6 people in my family including me. Your family can make you laugh and make you happy. Every day I would like everyone to thank your parents for giving birth to you, giving you presents, giving you siblings if you have any and everything they did for you. So hug and kiss your parents everyday...

LOVE THEM!! RESPECT THEM!!!

Things I like about my school - by Ethan Kuo

The school I’m currently in now is PCS - Pretoria Chinese School. The school is not very big which would make it easier to catch someone who would want to intrude. For me, I think the school is well educated and its IEB (Independent Examination Board).

Now, because the school is smaller than the others, meaning less students, that means less peers in my class, and because of this there will be less distraction, so I can concentrate on my work. Another thing I like about this school is the subject Chinese. Because the school has that subject at least half of the week, it’ll really improve my Chinese, as I used to only have Chinese once a week.

Going back to having less people in class it makes it easier for teachers to teach and for me to learn, so we can get most of our work done in class. This it gives learners to have more time studying if needed. The school also has a swimming pool which I like as I enjoy swimming. But all in all I’m sure it’ll be the best primary and maybe high school I will ever go to.

My eight most favorite sports. By Aamani Chetti

My eight most favorite sports are:

  • Table tennis
  • Volleyball
  • Hokey
  • Netball
  • Swimming
  • Tennis
  • Badminton
  • Soccer

I like table tennis because it is fun, really fun to play.

I like volleyball because you get to play in teams of 12 so each team is a team of 12 also my dad plays volleyball so he teaches us.

I like hokey because it is fun and you get to control the ball with a stick not to mention the ball is hard and small.

I like netball because it is hard and you are not allowed to move with the ball and not a lot of boys can play netball, it is really hard for them so we are at least better than boys in one sport.

I like swimming because you can get wet on a hot day and the cold water of the swimming pool will cool you down I also like it when we swim at galas we get to swim against other schools witch is really cool to me.

I like tennis because you get a tennis racket and you get to hit the tennis ball over the net to the other persons side witch is fun for me especially when you play against someone you don’t know.

I like badminton because it is like tennis just that the net is higher and the rackets are smaller witch is nice for me and it is different to other sports which is good.

I like soccer because anyone can play it is not only boys I also like soccer because there are world cups for soccer and soccer is a really fun sport to play.

NOW, EVERYONE READING THIS BLOG KNOWS WHAT MY FAVORITE SPORTS ARE, SO GO ON TELL US WHAT YOUR FAVORITE SPORT IS!!!

"The Guardians" Chapter 4 by Nina Olivier, Gemma Penning, Andrea White

“What!?” I said, my eyes growing large in fear.
“Yeah. What? You’ve never ridden a Silverwing before?”
“No, I have not, and I do not wish to.” I said
“Well, you’re going to have to, it’s the fastest way to get to the palace.” she replied and took off her hood, revealing a girl about my age, with green hair put into a neat plait. She had dark tan skin with green eyes. But these eyes were not a grey sort of greenish colour, they were a stunning lime!
She walked over to the green ‘Silverwing’ and climbed on his back. I looked over to the other one. She slithered slightly closer to me and almost beckoned me onto her back. Before I knew it, I was getting onto the serpents back weather I wanted to or not.
“Now what do I do?” I asked her
“Just sit back, and enjoy the view!”
As she said that, the serpents lifted into the air and were drifting off into the sky, with me screaming all the way. About halfway through I was getting used to the flying, and stopped screaming. “Wow, so she can stop!” said the girl sarcastically.
I ignored the comment and asked “Who are you anyway?”
“Me? I am the girl who slumps into the shadows. I am the girl declared an Outcast since the day she was born. I am Chryselium, Guardian of the Plants. And you?” Chryselium replied.
“I am Alex Flare,” I said, slightly confused about all the other stuff she said.
“Oh, so hello Alex Flare, Guardian of the Fire...!!!”

"The Guardians" Chapter 3 by Nina Olivier, Gemma Penning, Andrea White

I was about to scream, and I was freaking out. Just as this thing, whatever it was, was about to hit me on the head, an arrow shot it out of his hand. All of a sudden, his eyes went wide and he yelled, “EVERYBODY, IT’S HER! SCRAM!” and in seconds, they had all disappeared, literally. In little clouds of smoke. I looked around and saw a hooded person who came to me and started untying me.
“Thanks for.. you know, saving me,” I said “Do you know where I am?”
“No time for chit-chat,” said a voice. After she (I guessed it was a she) untied me, she whistled. But not a sweet tune, just one whistle, like she was calling for something. I looked around, but nothing happened. She muttered something under her breath, and whistled again, but I could hear a tone of impatience in her tune. Now I heard a slight rustle in the bushes, and then something came out. Something amazing, something incredible, and something I don’t think I can even describe. They were two serpents, but twice the size of my Dad, and trust me that’s huge. They also had huge, long wings, and one was dark red, and the other one was green.
“They’re beautiful!” I said.
“Yeah, I guess they are, now hop on. we’re going to have to ride!”

I love playing netball. In my team I am center and I am also the team captain. My favorite school to play against is South Downs they are really good at playing netball so we have a competition. My friends are in my team we all love playing netball because it is fun and keeps you fit.

Swimming! By Baki Madibeng

Swimming is my favorite sport. I love swimming! I also love the practice, doing galas and helping others to swim. My strong strokes are breaststroke, freestyle and backstroke. The only thing that I am not good at is staying in the water too long because I get really really cold. Sometimes my coach lets me get out when I am cold but not always. Swimming is fun! I love it because you can stay fit and learn new strokes.

Hard Life at school.. Continues. By Jordan Beckwith

Chapter 4 'What’s for lunch today'.

We must always be cautious because I don’t know what’s for lunch today. I am a little scared about that because it could be anything. Like a slug on Monday or liver PIE on Tuesday. I don't know what's worse. Well, at first break, I slowly opened my lunch box and I was right. It was worse than worse, so I did the right thing. I ran away, abandoning the toxic oozy sandwich and suspicious carrot liquid all into the dustbin.

Chapter 5 'Art'.
So it was time for Art and when I got into class I noticed something was different but what. I thought it was a new class but it was just new desks. I rushed to grab a seat in the front but sadly we had to sit in Alphabetical ORDER.

Chapter 6 'What are we doing'.
So as it happens I FORGOT what we where doing in class. So I did the right thing. I peeked at the person next to me. We were designing cover pages I was lucky to take action and take a look. Then the time came... So what was I going to do for my Drawing Book cover? Maybe soem fish or Star Wars!... Or Both...?
