'My Summer Holiday' a poem by Maya Hattingh

The 7th of December was the last day of school,

We started the holiday by going to my granny’s pool.

Playing with my cousin Angelina was lots of fun,

My cousin Mikey and my brother Alexander played cricket in the sun.

My Uncle came from Spain,

I was really happy to see him again.

My aunty came too,

She’s been to places like Thailand and Peru.

We went to Wimpy once or twice,

We went to our granny and it was very nice.

I was sad when my uncle left for Spain

And I had to go to school again.
