It has been a wonderful holiday. We hope you enjoy this school term coming up! We are all excited to be back at school, and wish everyone a successful and fulfilling last term of the year! And it is spring time in the Southern Hemisphere, so Happy Spring to everyone! We are all looking forward to the end of this year. The weather needs to be reminded that it's spring, as it decided to snow in Sneeuberg over the weekend and had us taking out warm clothes again. Winter be gone! Hello spring! Hello Term 3!

What does my teacher do? - a poem by Nina Olivier
What
does my teacher do?
She
always goes at exactly ten to two!
Maybe
she’s doing something for science,
Or
maybe she’s part of an evil alliance.
Or
maybe she could be really crazy
And
runs marathons, to not be lazy
Maybe
she’s a vampire, and her fangs are coming out,
Or
maybe she a troll and her long fingernails are starting to sprout!
Or
maybe this- I really don’t why-
she’s
trying to conquer the vast, blue sky?
Maybe
one day I might ask her where she goes,
But,
for now I shall sit in her class and sleepily doze

A Riddle - By Luan Reyneke
Six people have a pet each, a favourite electrical device, a favourite sport & a favourite food. Nobody has the same pet, electrical device, sport or food. Match each person to their pet, electrical device, sport & food.
Γ Neither Jane nor Roger play cricket.
Γ Peter eats either chocolate or soup.
Γ Juliet does not like chickens.
Γ Sam is on a strict non-sugar diet.
Γ Peter either has a computer or cell phone.
Γ Roger is afraid of snakes.
Γ The person who drinks soup has an iPad.
Γ Somebody dropped a cell phone into a pool.
Γ The person who keeps dogs doesn’t eat chocolate.
Γ The person who plays netball eats fruit.
Γ Peter buys his eggs from the shop.
Γ John doesn’t watch TV.
Γ The person who keeps the parrot likes neither TV nor computers.
Γ The person who plays netball eats fruit.
Γ Peter buys his eggs from the shop.
Γ John doesn’t watch TV.
Γ The person who keeps the parrot likes neither TV nor computers.
Figure it out!

"Creatures" - a poem by Cadey Blignaut
Creatures are mysterious
Some are big, some are small
Some are killers and some are sweethearts
You may not believe me
But even the smallest ant can make a difference.
It’s amazing how a silent ocean can be moved by a single fish, how a whole storm can be caused by the single flap of a butterfly’s wings.
The moon is even more enchanting by the
howl of a fierce wolf.

A Quick Gr4 Poem - by Aamani Chetty, Baki Madibeng, Inatsi Ndlovu, Lunathi Maseko, Motheo Motuku and Naledi Madumo
People judge
When you eat fudge
It gets stuck in your teeth
And you feel like a piece of beef.
They always laugh
When you cough,
They hate your style
And your little smile
And they gossip
about the stuff
in the magazines
with the limousines
Oh, there is no point
to this poem
about the broken
dreams and bones
So, time is gone
And we are done,
An hour's passed,
Let's go have fun!
When you eat fudge
It gets stuck in your teeth
And you feel like a piece of beef.
They always laugh
When you cough,
They hate your style
And your little smile
And they gossip
about the stuff
in the magazines
with the limousines
Oh, there is no point
to this poem
about the broken
dreams and bones
So, time is gone
And we are done,
An hour's passed,
Let's go have fun!
A hockey victory - by Mmampou Mabokane
The Under 13's girls hockey team of 2018 broke a record that has been standing for six years. They broke it when they won against Hatfield Christian School. They broke the record by winning 1:0 and the talented girl who scored the winning goal was our PCS Gr 6 player Kayla Spinelli!
Paper Planes - a poem by Chelsea Paterson
Paper airplanes - what a wonderful sight
Just to see them flying in the night,
Wonderful colours, beautiful to see,
Just blossoming and bleaming
In the day no one seems to care,
But in the night everyone will stare...!!
Just to see them flying in the night,
Wonderful colours, beautiful to see,
Just blossoming and bleaming
In the day no one seems to care,
But in the night everyone will stare...!!
